Oh Yeah - DAMAGE CONTROL 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY IS MAY 23RD!
Feel the real y'all.
I should have promoted this harder and honestly planned to have a huge benefit show for the station in celebration of our 5 year anniversary, but real world work hath kept me from setting that up something proper like. Expect the concert to happen in June sometime with lots of Texas heavy hitters and young talent alike. Ideally it's gonna happen at an out door venue and run from like noon till 2:30 a.m.
That's my vision anyway but I already know that not one of you will be there at noon and my grandiose vision will be a huge waste of time.
But alas and alak, Damage Control isn't a waste of time. In these 5 years it's becoem the premier place to hear independent Texas rap music. I mean, it's become the only place to hear truly independent Texas rap music up next to some of our bigger names and artists from all over the world.
This Wednesday night I'd love it if you and yours could come by the station and maybe say a few words about DC on the air. I'm talking about artists, listeners, DJ's, anyone who's down with Damage Control is invited.
But um, we are still in fund drive and I'm gonna ask everyone who shows up to become a member before they come in the door. If you are not prepared to support KPFT please stay home.
It's been a great 5 years, but I'm not really down for those who still don't get the concept of public radio. We need $35 a year from everyone who benefits from Damage Control. If we had that, we'd be the number one show on KPFT support wise. Unfortunatly only about 1% of the people on the show ever help us at all ever, and that needs to change.
