Man I don't have much to say at the moment. Just got the call that the man Justo was killed in a car wreck last night in Virginia. Forgive me if I got the facts wrong, that's just what I heard. I met him back in 1996 actually, before the mixtape awards when he was working at Nervous Records. Real good dude. I will post more info as it comes in but two things:
1. Y'all got to know that Justo honored DJ Screw at his mixtape awards back in the day waaaaaay before anyone outside of Houston was doing anything BUT dissing Screw music.
2. There's a photo in existence of DJ Screw and Justo together at that awards show. I don't have it, but someone out there does, if you do, please send me a jpg, I would love to post it. I NEED to post it.
This is definetly a loss. I am going to assume that his family is gonna need some financial help with the funeral and all that stuff as this was certainly unexpected. I'll post all info as it comes in, just know that hip hop has lost another heart.
More soon. Find that frickin' photo for me. One of you New York Magazine guys has it in a file cabinet somewhere I am sure. i saw ityears ago, possibly in a magazine. Possibly online. Whoever has it, please send it. I have no photos of Justo.
